Placement of sd card on mp4

Nit sure if this is an appropriate question but here goes.
Can I place the sd card on the rc2 controller or leave it on the mp4? I wonder in case I have a flyaway situation and can retrieve the sd card and recording.

Drone video high definition file recordings are on the drone SD card, not on the controller. Make sure you copy all new video files to your computer after each flight. Only very low resolution video files are on the controler.
