I have been lately getting compass interference almost every time I start up the M2P. The RC is first fired up, then I carry the unit out to the launch pad which is always out in the grass, set it down and start her up. When I get back to the RC, it shows magnetic interference so I so a recalibration, and it goes away. I have chosen different places in the grass, and when I fly for my work, I am in an asphalt parking lot (close to the home point where I fly for hobby).

When I got the unit last Xmas, I immediately charged everything up, registered it, and then did an IMU and a compass calibration. Each was quick and painless. For about 10 to 15 flights, never has a notice come thru about any problems. I started to notice the compass recalibration after I clipped a tree when manually landing, and the unit fell the last 10 to 15 feet to a hard surface. Nothing was visually damaged (it hit dead on the nose and just collapsed one of the forward legs. Did not even mess up one of the props as the unit tumbled and automatically shut down the motors. I was very lucky. After checking everything over, I launched and hovered at about 3 feet to be sure everything was good. No vibration, it was still very steady and holding position well.

The next day I moved several miles away to fly at a park, and got the compass interference message. I figured because I moved, that was the issue. The IMU was green. Since then, almost every time I set up (the first time of the day) I get a compass error. At the same time I noticed that I could be flying and well within VLOS, and I get a message for object avoidance. I could see nothing was around, and have read about the sun sometimes causing that problem. Most of my flying is between 11 and 2, so I know it is not low levels of sun. The unit will immediately stop. and when I go neutral on the right stick, wait a few seconds and then it will move again. On RTH I am getting one or more of the stops, and then it will start up again after a few seconds.

I started to suspect that maybe I have an IMU issue due to the nose in landing, but I do not know if that would have any thing to do with compass interference. Last night I tried to reset the IMU . It was the first time since I got the unit, and about 35 flights ago. The process would go to about step 3 of 5, and then seem to hang up. I waited for 15 minutes, moved it back to another position, and it seemed to move on. The last hang up was on step 5 of 5, and I left it sitting for a good 30 minutes before I just shut it off.

This morning when I started up the unit, there was no IMU error, but I did get a compass error. After resetting the compass, everything was good and I did an inspection for work. I did get the stop and go on RTH with object avoidance, but again I had a clear line of sight and no birds or anything else.

I am concerned that I may have damaged the IMU on the one hard landing (nose first, but no damage to the Pro camera at all). Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

send it to @Thunderdrones he will know how to fix it could have done some internal damage to the core board due to the impact or loosened a connection somewhere
