I live in Australia and do not have a license to use my drone for commercial use. If I go to a local footy club and ask to do some aerials for them and they wanted to pay would that be legal because this is a private job or no?

The issue would be flying over a ‘populous location’ commercial or otherwise.

‘You must not fly over or above people or in a populous area. This could include beaches, parks, events, or sports ovals where there is a game in progress.’

It might also be that you would be required to have third party insurance and the club could get into trouble for employing someone who is neither insured nor licenced.
I would not do it, I think you would be leaving yourself wide open to trouble.
Let the club pay a 'pro'.

Mate you need to read up on the CASA regs. You should checkout the accredited pilot process and register your drone. If you’re keen on that, get yourself organised.
