VLC is all anyone needs for watching videos on a computer.

VLC - And if you use a Mac set your Mavic to film .mov files then quicktime can play them too

I don't use 3rd party if I don't need to. Window Media Player on my Windows and QuickTime on my Mac. Works flawlessly and is all I need.

That is true if you have a powerful and recent machine. For those having older machines VLC player might give the better results than the built-in players.

Also worth noting, Vic can display the corresponding .srt file with flight info etc in sun with the video.
