Is it just a glass less ring or should there be glass in it? I alway wanted to ask.

There is no glass in the OEM ring. The stock lens ring is to help keep the threads and rubber seal protected when not using filters.

O-Ring....O-Boy I don't remember seeing an o-ring

There’s one there. I have to pick up a few cans of Air. I use them all the time. They are perfect for cleaning around the cameras on all my drones.79E88F2A-BB8A-4E70-9370-0874F48DF821.jpeg

Be careful using compressed air around certain components of your aircraft. You can actually push dirt and dust further into the unit. I use a small shop vac with a mustard cap attached to the end. Works great! Just a tip. ;)

Your correct about pushing debris further. I take that into consideration when using the air. In general in works great.

The original ring has no glass so it does not protect the camera front lens.
It can be an idea to buy an UV filter to permanently protect the camera lens.
If you use the manual exposure, to keep fixed ISO at the minimum and to set the shutter speed at 1/double of your frame rate (e.g 25 fps shotter speed 1/50; 60 fps shutter speed 1/120 etc.), so you need to buy a set of ND filters: in this case the UV is included in most of market available sets.
