Most of those types of antenna "boosters" actually work well.
As far as dual band Well your drone will only switch to using the 5.8GHZ when the drone thinks the 2.4GHZ has too much interference for reliable video transmission.
5.8 GHZ is terrible for range BUT good for video reception lag.
