RC Pro - anyone make an educated guess about compatibility with upcoming Mavic 4 Pro?

If you know the Chinese, they will tell customs they're only $1,000 when they bring them into America. Then after the 125% tarrif, they will still be $2,600. When I just paid $1,250 for my replacement Mavic 3 pro, the paperwork that came with it said it was $600! I'm not kidding.
I imagine the $600 is the replacement cost value to DJI rather than the price you paid as DJI will be paying the custom charges.

I really can't see US customs allowing Chinese containers full of brand new Mavic 4 Pro's entering into the country destined for retail shops with a custom value way below their actual cost value.

You might be right. Back in the 90's I had a friend who's father worked for customs in Long Beach California. He said these sweaters would come in from China, and they told customs they were $4. But in the store they sold for over $20. Yes, I think the drone only costed $600 to make but I paid $1,250. So they have pretty good profit. I just heard some of Nvidia's chips price has a 55% profit. Same with the iPhone. The difference between what you pay, and the cost to make them is astronomical.

The RC2 is a great controller with most of the features the RC Pro offered over the original RC.

Antenna, transmission power, screen size/resolution/fps are all identical between the RC2 and RC Pro.

While the Pro does have a slightly brighter screen, 300nits is hardly a deal breaker in terms of brightness difference. Shielding the screen will have a much bigger effect than 300nits extra brightness and I've had no issues flying the Air 3 in bright noon sunlight (probably the most boring and uninteresting time of day to fly a drone).

The rumoured bigger sensor in the Mavic 4 alone would by far outweigh any controller worries. Having to use an RC2 over my old RC Pro controller would not be the limiting factor for me purchasing the new drone.
The extra brightness was the main (90%) reason for my RC Pro. It has dropped to about 750 and is barely usable in some shade when using DLOG in AZ sun. Looking into 7" or so external monitor of 2-3000nits ( cd/m^2).
Mavic3 is enough for now, maybe the trade stuff will have settled out by the time I get spousal clearance to upgrade...

Lack of spousal clearance "trumps" Customs clearance and all tariffs! LOL!
