RC- Pro with Mini 3 Pro

Only DJI knows ...
But for > 1,000 Euros they better make it compatible. It's already quite irritating given the money, that DJI has not made any statement before.

I follow @KLRSKIR line, that now, as the initial setup with the RC has sold well and is available, they might turn their focus to the more expensive RC Pro.

I think what happens is that DJI first only sells the controllers as combos with new drones while demand is still relatively high. After the initial buying rush and when production can catch up with demand, they start to offer the controllers and drones separately. This seems to be what has happened in the past as well.

The more drones DJI makes the RC Pro compatible with, the more RC Pros DJ sells, so I wouldn't be surprised if they add the M3P to the compatibility list. Margin on the RC Pro is also going to be higher than the DJI RC. They already went the other way and made the M3 compatible with the DJI RC, and rumor is that there will be a M3 combo with the DJI RC available soon. Fingers crossed.

It would obviously be quite appealing to invest in one really nice controller (like the RC Pro) and use it to fly 2-3 different types of drones - I think there are a lot of folks who want that. DJI already sells the M3P separately, but I don't think there is a SKU yet for a standalone M3.

Only time will tell, but if I had to guess I'd say yes. The Mini 3 is now readily available without a remote. DJI Paladin maybe spilled some beans in this post over on the official forums.

Personally I think this will happen sooner rather than later.
I saw that post in the official forums and wondered...while intruguing, my guess is that the DJI moderator just was not being careful with his words. I suspect that moderator knows nothing more about future product releases than the average random person you might meet on the street (in other words, absolutely nothing).

The mods there seem incredibly clueless, only dropping in occasionally to provide empty happy-talk thanking people for posting a video, or reminding everyone to "fly safe" (never an actual response that contains meaningful info, never making even the slightest effort to answer a question or god-forbid, help resolve a technical issue). If the moderators there aren't actually bots, they might as well be.

Personally, I hope that DJI does make the RC Pro compatible with the Mini 3 Pro (and their other higher-end drones). The profit margin on the RC Pro has got to be high, so it would seem to be a wise business decision to do so. May not happen for a while though. 🤷

Keep in mind too that there is often a language barrier with DJI support staff so minor grammatical errors can add major ambiguity to a reply. I don't know if that's the case with that poster or not but this is what he said:

"We will keep you posted once the said RC will be compatible with the DJI Mini 3 Pro."

That statement is not clear, so it could be interpreted as:

1) Yes it's coming, we'll let you know when
2) If it comes, we'll let you know

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't as it would only serve to sell them a boatload more RC Pros, and all their new drones are on O3, so hopefully it happens.

Paladin and a few others, Wanda and Susan do know their stuff. Stephen has been the first contact/fire-extinguisher for quite a while providing canned responses.

I was going to say the same thing. I just ordered the Mini 3 Pro last night with the RC and looking this morning, there are firmware updates to allow the use with my RC Pro. So, now to decide if I keep the RC as a compact option or let it go since I will use my RC pro each time along with using it on my Air 2S.

Mulling similar issues. But since it's phone-less, I'm probably going to order the mini3P with it and sell the unused RC-N1 that came with the M3. Like you, I took advantage of the Air2S/RC-Pro offer several months ago.
