I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat...

I've been flying, coming up on a year soon. I just realized and have to confess... I have never used any of the quickshot modes. I've used Litchi for programmed missions. But even in Litchi I've never used any of the automated tricks.

Are you like me having never tried these out? Or do you use these all the time? If you use them, which are your favorites, why and when do you like to use them?

@vindibona1 tried them when i first purchased my MPP ,just to see what the resulting video was like ,but apart from trying Waypoints twice in my early ownership ,i just prefer to fly the drone myself

For some of the quick shots on the MA2 I cant fly as good as I can capture in a high helix and or the asteroid shot.. so those are the only ones I really use but not very often.

I think it's Litchi that keeps me away from the quickshots. I can program moves in my computer and do a virtual run and know pretty well what's going to happen in advance. I suppose there are some on-the-fly advantages of quickshots. I would suppose that helix would be difficult to fly manually. And I also think there is something of a challenge to learn to do multiple moves simultaneoulsy. Yaw, drift, retreat/advance, altitude and gimbal move together is something I'd like to master.

I have used almost all of them. You are really missing out on a lot of fun stuff if you don't give those a try. I like the Way Points 2.0 for my Mavic 2 Pro. I and have used that one 3-4 times in videos I have submitted here over the year. Also, The panorama, hyperlapse are frequently used.

Using LITCHI, I like to use waypoints missions with POI (Points of interest). I have 3 or 4 missions I fly repeatedly at different seasons. I use them to make sort of morphing movies. Here is an example:

Formidable!

What a great idea. Your video is extremely well done. The photography is wonderful and the music suits it perfectly. The editing was very skillful. Thanks very much for sharing this. I'm looking forward to viewing some of your other videos.

I've not been able to justify paying $25 for Litchi, but you may have convinced me that the waypoint/POI flight feature is worth the cost.

Very lovely video. Great flying, beautiful scenes, great editing and music selection, and the technique of using planned and programmed flights is very clever for showing the changing seasons. I once considered having Litchi but was too overwhelmed by the amount I already had to learn just to fly. I have had successful waypoints 2.0 flights with my Mavic 2 Pro so now I am not so much interested now in Litchi, but I could be talked into it by some input from the forum.

Perhaps I'll see what i can find interesting and try a few out. Decent weather should be around the corner.

As for Waypoints I've been using Litchi, largely because of the pre-programability and virtual preview of the flights. I also have Dronelink which, sadly, I have not been able to figure out how to do a single mission with. Probably more powerful than Litchi, but so much more difficult (for me seemingly impossible) to learn.

The one thing that I discovered with Litchi is that the automation makes me a bit lazy. Where I find it most helpful is when direct line of sight might be eclipsed for a few moments. While a lot of things could be done automatically what automation does not do is help build flying skills. I also still prefer Photoshop CS3 without the tools of the newest versions that can make photo know-nothings look brilliant .

Here are two of the Waypoint 2.0 films.done on Mavic 2 Pro intelligent Flight Modes. It took me only a few minutes to plan this out at my desk several DAYS before the flight. Then went there, put up the drone, and brought up the pre-programmed flight from the storage, and hit "GO" button. It did it's thing, keeping the POI in the middle. Then it came back to where I planned, and I landed without difficult. I did this at the Baptist Hospital film and at the Shopping Center film with the fountains.

Ok... So please explain how you can program the mission from your desktop? I read the instruction page for Waypoint 2.0 and it appears that you still have to program it from phone's screen. Also it appears that saving the missions involve using iTunes (which I hate more than Cilantro). As Steven Crowder might say, convince me that I should use Waypoint 2.0 vs Litchi :).

Thanks MS Coast for your "compliments". The most fantastic side of Litchi is that automatic RTH brings the drone back on a dime right in the middle of my launching pad.

Did I say desk top? I meant from my desk in my home office. Sorry. Before the planned flight I can program my flight on my iPad, which is connected to my RC. Here is my set up. The drone, screen , RC and iPad are set up on my desk, I turn on the RC and the iPad and the Drone. I click on the Intelligent flight modes (does not have to be up in the air) and I start to program. I can change the routing, and the height of each point and the Point of Interest. I then store it in the library. I can then go out to the proposed site and turn it on, bring up the program, and hit the Go button.

I do not need iTunes at all. With a name like Vindibona and you do not like Cilantro? Try Basil. It is great on everything. Programming Waypoints 2.0 from my desk.jpg

Good for you- a man of your age playing with an iPad. No thanks. I like a keyboard and mouse.

I just thought of another feature I've never used on my M2P... Panning the camera! I know I can use my finger to move the gimbal not only up and down but left and right! I suppose it's usefulness might be limited. But there was on instance with my Mini 1 that I had to "crab" it to get the footage I needed and it was very difficult to fly it parallel with a building while yawing in at the same time.

Bonjour Dale. I like very much these two videos, the movements, the color and the music. Unfortunately I don’t have a waypoint and POI modes on Mavic Air. That’s why I use Litchi. Can you choose different POI on a same flight? Can you make very smooth turns going from one POI to another? Are the back and forth drone movements automatic on your Mavic 2 Pro intelligent mode? I like Litchi for its continuous flight movements through gimbal different angles or altitudes. Here is an example. Cheers. Happy flying! Keep up the good work...

Bonjour Aussi! Comment allez vous! J'étudie le Francais en école secondaire 70 ans passe!
J'oublie tout le chose!
I loved your video L'ilet La Base 4K. So calm, such nice flying, and of course, beautiful scenery and music.

The Mavic 2 Pro intelligent flight mode Waypoints 2.0 satisfied all of my needs. I do not know if I could learn Litchi.

To answer your questions. I do not think I could use two different POI's in the same video, but I could be mistaken. I have not tried it. Once I press "GO" all movements are controlled independently of what I do. I cannot touch the sticks at all. If I do, it interrupts the program. So all of the back and forth movements were done by the drone software. All of the turns you saw in those two videos were done automatically by the drone.
