My two year care refresh is about to expire. Can I or should I send it in for a refresh?

It's never been wreaked and still looks new but I do still get the "max altitude reached" and sometime "gimbal overload" at start up but for the most part it flys good.

It's now or never. Your choice, but the usage of your care refresh for a Refurb to fix the issues comes at the price of the deductible, with no guarantee that the replacement won't have the same issues, depending upon the cause of the messages. If it ain't broke, don't go fixin' it. LOL!

I would renew your refresh, if it was me. I fly professionally and pay a lot of money for insurance, for the drones and for liability. Every year the premiums go up, but I have to have insurance or I can’t work. The refresh fee is less money than what the insurance companies charge for what they call hull insurance. I now pay the refresh to DJI and only pay liability to the insurance company. DJI usually replaces your drone if there is much repair involved when you send it in for service.

Thanks guys,

I take good care of my drones and don't try really risky flights so, I don't think I'll renew the refresh but as Gadgetguy hinted at would the cure/refresh be worse than just letting the warranty just run out?

Things that make you go Hmmm

Something to consider and I don’t know exactly what this means but please note here:

What does it mean when DJI says if you did not make a claim under Care Refresh then they will extend your warranty by one additional year?

For clarity, the OP wasn't asking about renewing Refresh, but whether or not to send it in for a Refurb replacement under his exiting Refresh policy before it expires, based upon two minor issues he has been able to endure and live with up until now, that are only minor annoyances.

I'd let it lapse, and you still have the opportunity to send it in for repair, if either of the two issues become a problem for you, and cannot be resolved with updates, or settings, or not using heavy filters on the camera module, stressing the gimbal at launch. Both sound like they are software issues or accessory issues, rather than hardware issues with the drone itself or the controller, and neither of those issues should be very expensive to repair, even if they are hardware issues on either device. Probably cheaper to repair, than your cost of the deductible on your Refresh!
