Remote controller charging the iPhone

I know of the setting in the DJI app to make the controller charge the iPhone. I find it useful. The problem is the setting does not stick. When I power down and then power up, say the next day, the charging option is always off. Anybody know of a solution?

How much shorter is the controller battery lasting with that mode on? I have a new phone battery, but the controller outlasts it much longer.

I don't really have a good answer to that. I do know that my phone really takes a battery hit when flying, so charging it when flying is a plus. I know that my phone battery is on it's last legs as well.

I cant find ot now- maybe it only show up when the app sees the remote? Anyways, it may be better off not setting it that way as your remote is your only backup.

Here is the screen. Slide the button to the right until it is green. Always defaults back to off. Iphone app.
