RIP Charlie

We can't debate gun violence, because there is no such thing.

It's just violence. In other places where guns are less prevalent, it's knives, or machetes, or fire.

Having said that, outside of democratically controlled areas, you don't need a skewed and massaged set of numbers. Violence is very low.

Inside democratically controlled large cities, you are in as much danger here in America as you would be in Paris or London.

We can't talk about the why though, because equity and inclusiveness only supports a very narrow construct of language.

Inside democratically controlled large cities, there is a TON of violence. I've been to a few; some look exactly like places overseas now.

If you want to talk culture, or anger, or why people hurt so badly that self-medicating or hurting others is the only answer, we can discuss that.

But if you are persisting in belief that access to firearms is the problem, I can't help you. Bet anyone on that bus wishes they had one though.
Your “Democrat city” excuse? Doesn’t hold water. The states with the worst gun death rates—Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama—are deep red, and rural counties often beat cities on per-capita gun deaths. Culture and poverty matter, but the reason our homicide rate blows past the rest of the developed world.
You obviously can’t even speak truth to support your position.

Our homicide rate 'blows past the rest of the developed world'??

I lend as much credence to that assertion as I do your initial one, unless of course you don't see, oh, mexico, guatemala... all those places as 'developed'.

'speaking truth' < I know what that dog whistle means.

Take out suicide and accidents and tell me where the greatest MURDER rates are. I don't need to wait, I already know.

No.

Where are you most likely to be injured for your watch and wallet, or just because? Stinky Creek Montana or NYC?

Again, just rebutting the lunacy. Not interested in debate.

Servicemembers should know better than to voice opinion in uniform on any topic, as it may be misconstrued by the public as official policy. (shrugs) same as law enforcement and the rest of public safety.

I keep thinking about that killing spree that was planned last year where there was someone targeting democrat politicians and there weren't anyone on the right side screaming about it. I think the left seemed to be a lot less rabid about it as well.
And Pelosi's husband. I don't remember anyone on the right side with any empathy there either.

The situation we have now is extremely hypocritical.

I don't know anything about a planned democrat killing spree, and I generally keep up with those things.

Pelosi's husband was attacked by someone he knew... well.

(shrugs)

Of course you’re not interested in debating. Debating to you is you talking.

I know it was a very long time ago so it's hard to remember that far back to last June

"MINNEAPOLIS – Vance Boelter, 57, has been indicted on six federal charges in connection with the stalking and murders of Minnesota House of Representatives Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman, the stalking and shooting of Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette Hoffman, and the attempted shooting of their daughter Hope Hoffman, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson."

Oh!
Yeah, we've already discussed that one. A leftist that was enraged that a fellow traveler would vote with the repubs and against illegals getting benefits.

I was proud of her, but when you go against progressives... they eat their own. Often. I am surprised Fetterman hasn't got much more than a lot of hate and discontent, for that matter. (shrugs)

That wasn't a plan against democrats as you describe though. Like when the democrat shot up the congresspeople just playing baseball, THAT was against a lot of people.

There's the spin I was expecting.

I keep forgetting this is a drone forum and not a politics forum.

I'm backing away.

Absolutely. But claiming a war on "the radical left" is what is needed. Really?
I didn’t read anything about that here and see no reason for you to bring politics into it. This is what causes this all the time. Radicals on both side either claiming or behaving extreme

Did you have the same strong reaction when Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were murdered in Wisconsin in June?

What hopes do you have for the three children that were shot in their classroom on the same day as the Kirk shooting?
I don’t see that because a person expresses concern about something that they do not have concern for anyone else. I feel really sad for you guys in the U.S. and the state of your free speech. This is a prime example. You are attack in someone because you don’t agree or think they should be saying what you want. What is happening guys. It’s crazy
A simple post to just say it was a sad thing to happen, and even this small community has members that have to throw a negative slant on it. ‘What about this, what about that, he was a bad dude’
Everyones opinion is more important than anyone elses and has to be expressed…..WTF people.
Sometimes i think free speech is just ********. It doesnt exist anymore. Shame on society
