Litchi, Fly App Drone RTH Setting

I use both Litchi and Fly App with an Air 2S – Litchi for Waypoint Missions. Fly App for other flying.

I can set RTH on the Fly App

Litchi has a setting for it but has N/A as its in built option. I can change it but it is not intuitive nor do I understand if it is correct/applicable. What is the explanation surrounding it ?

Questions

  • Is RTH locked in the Air2s or within each App?
  • Is it set ONLY by Fly App ?
  • How and when might I set it in Litchi ?
  • Nothing in Litchi Mission Hub ?
  • Can someone please give an overview of this situation
  • Does the controller (RC-N1) store anything ?
  • Any other settings impacted by moving from one App to the other ?

The RTH feature is baked into the drone's firmware and is the same regardless of the app you fly with.
RTH settings are stored in the drone,so it's still not going to make much difference what app you fly with.

Thanks Meta4

You immediately made me realize I asked the wrong questions.
OK the firmware has the RTH rules for the drone to play with. Fixed. I get that.

But I can tell the Fly App to RTH at XXX feet and it does. Switching over to Litchi does it RTH at that last Fly app Setting cos its locked into the drone or go to the nominal 400Feet or will it go to something else ? I do nothing to have it RTH at end of mission.
What tells it what it the elevation was cos litchi appears not to have varying the elevation as an option when it has “N/A” as the setting.
Under some circumstances it’s a waste of effort to climb when it is unwarranted by the environment.
What is it I am missing?

If Litchi is showing “N/A”, it means that the Litchi app is not connected to the drone. If you power up the drone and controller, and run Litchi, you will see the current RTH height displayed in Litchi’s settings.

It performs a RTH at the RTH height stored in the drone. This height can be set using either DJI Fly or Litchi.

The RTH value can only be seen and changed while connected to the drone.
