I just watched an episode of the show "Right This Minute " that had two guys attaching a rubber chicken to a DJI Phantom, flying too 600 feet and dropping it, then trying to catch it. They were never successful at 600' the 1st 4 attempts but managed to catch the chicken when it accidentally dropped at 300' on the 5th attempt. After this the show challenged everyone to try this at 600'. It's pretty sad when a show on FOX TV endorses this behavior.
Now how many people are going to disobey FAA rules trying this? Really makes you wonder why we even have rules anymore.

Fox could well have been operating under Part 107 with a waiver, so don't be so fast to jump to conclusions.

Did you know CNN has a waiver that allows them to fly over crowds?

I'd be more concerned about the potential violation of 14 CFR 91.15, and I would argue that dropping an item from 600' AGL could be a hazard to persons or property

a one pound object dropped from 600 feet has a velocity in excess of 110 mph at ground level, and close to 600 ft/pounds of force

All I wanted to say is that the show is challenging everyone to try this....not good.
