Will this work for DJI GO 4 ? I know the DJI page says no but I also know that page isn't right all the time. I'm asking due to a friend having one brand new that is selling it cheap... Thanks
Guess I should add it's brand new in the box so I'm guessing 2019 and it's 8" screen

Based on my experience using an earlier model Samsung Tab A 8 with Go4, the 2019 model might work...just.
Removing or disabling some of the bloatware apps and disabling local video caching should improve the tab's performance, but you still might have some video lag.

I've tried it just in my house and it seems fine. It is one with data also. I haven't got to fly yet due to rain. But I'll give it a try tomorrow if it's drier.

I have used the Samsung Tab "A" 10" in my home made harness for more than a year now. Apart from keeping it lean and mean and up to date, I always turn off WiFi, Bluetooth and turn on "aeroplane mode" before each flight. It has been excellent for me and I can recommend it to you.

I'm happy to report that the Tab A 8.0 works great. It does have a cell capability and I've read where those tablets seem to be a bit better. So far it's great no more lag than my S9+
My buddy had it brand new never activated it for $80. So even if it wouldn't have worried I likely would have bought it anyway.

Me too, I'm happy I bought the Samsung Tab A 8", model SM-T290, from Sam's Club for $139.99. It even came with a 32 gb micro SD card. It runs DJI GO 4 and Litchi with no problem. I didn't do any anything special in the setup or disable video caching and so far I have not seen any errors or glitches. I'm also pretty happy with the brightness in sunlight, although I've only had one sunny day to try it. My only disappointment is that the charging port is a micro USB instead of USB-C.

The photo in the sunlight really doesn't do it justice. It was just really hard to hold the controller at the right angle and get a picture at the same time. I'm sure a hood would help a lot.
