The streaks really do add interest. I thought they were snow at first then I enlarged the photo. My guess would be it is peaty-water, water that has percolated through peat. I see similar lines on peaty-water lakes here when there is wind, I guess small wave action stirs up something in the water producing a foam of sorts. Are the streaks on the water from ice or just how the wind was blowing?
Good looking pics. Are the streaks on the water from ice or just how the wind was blowing? I think it really adds to the pic.
Great photo. I can sense the bitter blustery chill from my seat here in sunny SW Florida. Thank you for sharing but it's not my cup of tea.
The lines are Langmuir circulations. They form on any sizable body of water from bubbles, foam, and small debris piled up in lines by water circulating at the surface. The streaks really do add interest. Wow, thanks! The lines are Langmuir circulations. They form on any sizable body of water from bubbles, foam, and small debris piled up in lines by water circulating at the surface.
Great photo.
