Do i have to put an SD card in the drone and the controller ?

No ,put it in the drone to record the best quality footage, a second SD card can go in the controller for screen recording and as a backup - I keep my spare in there so if I ever go out withut the drone SD card I have a backup card I can use

There's plenty of help and tutorials on here and Google, even the experienced pilots are still learning

I do the same thing and have had to use it on several occasions. Always good to have a spare.
