I have had my mavic 2 zoom now for about month and i am having blast!! I upgraded from spark and i thought i would still keep and use the little guy, but i just advertised it for sale. As much as i enjoyed my first drone the past year, switching betweem zoom and spark is like night and day, i simple cant think of good reasons keep spark, going miss the little guy :)

Anyway, thought i would share some footage i took with the zoom 2 weeks back on south africa south coast. Some of it is a tad over exsposed seemed i acidently turn up Ev while flying with perhaps a too weak nd filter on the one video. But oh well live and learn with the new drone :)

Both very nice but..... I would recommend using a landing pad or hand catching/takeoff. Your 2nd video just shows how much dust is thrown up by the props, could screw up your motors/electronics over time.

You don’t want a failed motor while flyingo_O

Thanks, fair piont, i dont usually take off on sand or dirt at all but admitt in that video i got a bit lazy, weather was changing fast as it does at beach so i wanted get it done, and poeple were walking towards me. One think i hate about droning is i dont want launch with people around, it so anoying when take of and people sneak up on. Its cool if people are chill and want ask questions, but not so much when u have bird in air and yout look at a screen and worry whose coming up behind you lol. Personally i dobt really like or use those landing pads, i like be stealthy, i mostly film landscap so i go well away from people especially at the beach. I feel like setting up those neon landing pads is like an advertisment "i am that anoying drone guy about film you wife sunbathing" lol. Another donwside of walking a few kilometers down beach film away from people is you dont want get mugged carry over 1000 dollars of gear. I literally put my fly more mavic 2 bag in plastic bag so it looks like my lunch or something :)

There was no criticism at all I was just trying to look out for you & your flying friend (drone)

I understand what you are going through it always happens to me when I start flying, we are like magnets we attracted people which is great but all I want is to be left alone to fly;) I’m also a person that does use a landing pad, felt like a “wally” when I 1st started using it but don’t think anything of it now, it’s the norm for me;)

Anyway great vids & can’t wait to see more;)

Thanks, no worries, i took your comment in the posetive light i knew it was intended in. Beleive me when i edited the video and decided to make that the start i thysically cringed when i saw the sand kicked up lol i thought it both looked cool as i havent seen my drone do that and immediately left davinci resolve and went rub down and clean the drone. I think anyone flying at beach needs tend to theor drone after, the sand and saltwater air and cause damage over time. If ypur looking for another video here my first two flight before trip to the coast, they are bit long winded, was still figure thibgs about but for whats it is worth here they are...

Well i will do my best show you SA with the mavic 2 lol But i am still very much a amateur especially on editing, but its fun hobby :) You know what pretty cool about the mavic 2 hyperlapses and should be very obvious too, is that you can get so many good ones without even flying. When i was at coast i got lot good ones at ground level litterally just moving from bench to bench in the bay with mavic next to me without props on. Without flying the battery last a lot longer ofcourse aswell i get lot more hyperlapse on battery and with mavic 2 body and gimbal it make a good ground hyperlapse platform too.

I think my GoPro hero 6 black has hyperlapse must give that a try before I start using it on my M2P.

Yeah its probally better if you have that instead using a expensive drone for that. I think i might look into getting a dedicated camera for ground based hyperlapses too in the long run. It was mostly a experiment and i was at beach fly already. It worked really well, but not sure if id want put more unessary wear and tear, or battery cycles, on my mavic 2 just for that purpose. But if you dont own anything else for it its good know it does job well. I can also tell you had lot people come up to me when they spotted the mavic 2 and they ruined loads of my hyperlapses lol. I got mavic 2 from amazon from US, before it was ofcially released here so people were curious.

I must admit people are very nice when they approach me, asking loads of questions plus seeing the screen puts another turn on the conversation. All I do is just hover while chatting but of cause all I want to do is fly & take photos. By the time they have left me it’s time to bring my M2 in for a fresh battery, yep one gone already I say to myself:oops::oops:

It does happen quite often but it’s got to the stage, it’s the norm for me. Haven’t had anyone being negative yet but no doubt it will happen.
