So, first flight was fantastic and without a hitch! That was awesome!
Brought my mavric back into the hotel, went out and got Chipotle... went to use it again and the gimbal went kinda nuts, smacking itself about three times into something.
Now it doesnt stay steady for anything, and keeps throwing a code saying "Gimbal obstructed" followed often by "Gimbal motor over loaded" and the little motors heat up quite a bit. Even when I try the "cheat" of getting it stable (turning on the mav while on its side) it will drop the camera looking straight down within 2mins of flight. Also, it doesnt seem to make up for any vibration at all...
Reading on here and online it seems as if I have a ribbon cable issue? Odd... as it worked perfectly before and its not like I took a crash or anything...
Any thoughts on this? Or maybe a fix or a way to determine if I FOR SURE just need a cable?
TIA

A few questions:
  1. Did you buy it new? If so, when and where? If not, when and where?
  2. If you bought it new and it has not been crashed, can you return it?
If you bought it new, try to return it instead of filing a warranty claim.

Used from another forum member. Worked fine for two batteries worth of test times

The gimbal obstructed message might pop up if the mounting tabs have bounced out of the correct position.
That can happen with a hard landing or even a jolt in transit.

I have taken it on two flights on an airplane... perhaps that. How do I check them? The gimbal does seem excessively bouncy

I don't have the Pro any more, but turn it on it's back you should see the tabs which when right way up stop it dropping too far.
There are what amounts to rubber bands above that can also come unhitched.

When I push a piece of foam between the gimbal itself and the drone, suddenly it works just fine... is there supposed to be something between them?
