Ulverston's disused Canal is a 1.25 miles ship canal that connects the town of Ulverston, Cumbria, England with Morecambe Bay.
The waterway, which is entirely straight and on a single level, is isolated from the rest of the UK canal network.
It was built so that maritime trading vessels could use the town's port.

I don't know what the laws are about flying over people in England, but it looked to me that the few people I did see, were not directly beneath the drone

Its a 249g drone it's allowed.

If you're flying a drone or model aircraft that's lighter than 250g, you can fly closer to people than 50m and you can fly over them, but you must not fly over crowds. When you're thinking about how close you can fly, remember, you must never put people in danger.

I didn't notice any violation at all. Watching you tube videos about every other one there's someone not doing it right. Great video Max Headroom. From what I could see he wasn't directly over anyone but to the side.

Thanks to all members for the positive comments.

I do try to keep away from people even though officially i don't have to, people out for a quiet walk in the countryside don't want someone buzzing them with a noisy drone so i tend to keep it high and away as much as i can.

I have had people come up and ask about the drone and so far they have been genuinely interested and not at all upset about me flying it i hope this continues and i never meet one of those Karens you see on some videos.
