Transfer pictures and videos with app/sd card

Hi can anyone tell me what's the difference between downloading pictures and videos using the app/ transfer files directly from sd card?

You can download full quality via the app connected to the remote...but it will take a LONG time for lengthy 2.7/4K clips... using the MicroSD card to an iPad Pro/iPhone7 usb3 dongle, or to another device with usb3 speeds will be much, much faster.

So basically when in the app n u just save the video/picture the quality is low?

On a HP Pavilion dv6 I use NCR VideoPad Video Editor (free trial version) and put the SD card into its card slot using an adapter. Couldn't get it to play the video files from the MP using the USB.
