Anyone else struck by how straight and regular the straight walls are?

A string goes a long ways in aligning stonework. Brick layers still use the technique today. Oh, and for longer distances, two sticks standing up straight - also easy to do. Arches, curved knaves, even geometric angles laid out that way are amazingly accurate.

Indeed, as did I, but to be still so straight after 2000 or so years is impressive.
