Updated settings using iPad but doesn't show up when connect iPhone

I updated the controller settings with DJI Go 4 by logging in and connecting my iPad to the controller. I powered up the controller then the mavic. I changed gimbal settings, changed metrics to imperial, made calibrations, and other minor changes. However, when I went to fly connecting my iPhone to the controller those updates did not show up. I logged out of the app and logged back in, but still didn't see the updated sendings.

Do I have to update using each device or are the updates saved within the app?

Most of the settings are stored in the Mavic itself.
You won't see them if not connected to it.

I was connected each time. I was connected to the mavic when i made the changes using my iPad that was connected via USB cable to the controller. I shut down and then went outside connecting to the mavic using my iphone 7 connected to the controller. However, all the new changes to the settings were not there.

It's hit and miss... I found that some of the settings stay with the drone, some stay with the app. I have 4 devices that I can fly with (don't ask..) and keeping everything synced is a major pain..
