Using goggles as a display from Smart RC

I am new to drones but understand the basics but as I have no experience with FPV I hope someone can help me. I have the Air 2S with smart RC which has hdmi out. I would like to experience fpv mode without the expensive outlay for the likes of dji or Fat shark goggles. Can I assume that any googles with hdmi in from the smart RC could be used to experience this view.

Seems like that should work, but then you are flying FPV. I do not know the regulations in Ireland, but in the U.S. you would need a visual observer (VO), although that (and VLOS) is a much abused rule among FPV pilots.

I found a good deal on a DJI V1 goggles and it works fine they the HDMI on the smart controller

any suggestions on goggles/glasses with good specs/price obviously as they are just taking a video feed they wont need wireless receiver etc
