Very strange situation........

The first 3 to 4 comments in the thread were about "cell service." And all 3 devices get their updates that way.

They get updates over the internet you don't need cell service to use the net for updates

Why do you avoid the cellular network? It is the only way I update.

Cost, pay as you go here, given I am deaf £10 lasts me months, text messages only. I have never had a contract phone. If I used data I doubt £10 would last a day.

Really? In the UK every new car comes with a user manual - describing how to do most things from the demisting the windscreen to checking the oil.
However my point was that I would never deem someone competent to drive if they've only read the manual

The "tech" reason for me, and I'm guessing many others, is the monthly data limits - Not everyone can afford an unlimited data plan!

Perhaps he meant that cars don't include the "how to drive" section like drones manuals show how to fly, navigate.

Every Car I've ever bought here in the U.S.A has come with an owners Manuel
