Video dark, camera light

So I was chasing lightning bolts last night and noticed while shooting video, I almost has zero control over the video settings. +3.0 EV and the GO 4 app view was dark.
this was with 1080p120 settings
Manual settings was worse.
I flip to camera mode and I can see some details in the clouds unlike the video.
Was it the slow mode that was causing it?

Just because you can set +3 doesn’t mean it can actually do that. When you set a higher frame rate the maximum shutter speed length is limited. Photos don’t have to worry about a frame rate so you can get longer shutters. Photos are also higher resolution than video and you can shoot in raw.
