while in flight, the screen on my phone continuously rolls black and goes choppy and becomes very blurry. as I turn the mavic or move the gimble up or down, it does the same thing. could the issued be that I am using an older Samsung s4?

I've seen that happen with older devices that cannot handle the stream. Record and pull the video from the SD to see how it actually looks. More than likely it's the phone.

Mine does this all the time and freezes. I have a nexus 6P on nougat 7.1.1. It does it in Litchi as well as any of the go apps.
