Be sure you don't have beginner mode turned on and intelligent flight mode is turned on (though IFM setting actually affects sport mode switch).

Icon on left of screen shown as a controller opens up menu for IFM, one being waypoints. You may have to scroll the screen up/down or left/right to see additional modes available.
