Imagine a mile or so of power lines, I would like to set the flight path, and perform an orbit around each pole while recording video. What app would work best for this?

Thank you

I would have thought Litchi would do the job, but VLOS difficult over a mile!
You can do it with Litchi too but DroneLink allows you to combine waypoint a orbit modes where as with Litchi you’d have to manually put waypoints around the orbit point and it can be tricky to get a perfectly round orbit with waypoints. Not saying you can’t or need for it to be that precise but DroneLink makes it pretty simple to get perfect the first time B34F8ED3-95D8-4C45-A9CB-C5A0841EEE47.jpeg

I started with Dronelink and then bought Litchi. There is a reason one is free and the other not. Dronelink excels at promotional videos. Litchi works.

For me Dronelink has always flown missions exactly as programmed; sometimes what I programmed was not what I wanted!

And yes, Dronelink can combine those elements in a way that Litchi cannot.

Most issues users have with either program is not fully understanding how the programs work and not setting up missions correctly.

There is a larger learning curve with Dronelink. The reason for that is that it is much more powerful and flexible. Neither is a good choice if you are not willing to spend the time learning how to get the most out of them.

Dronelink continues to add functionality on an almost weekly basis. Litchi has advanced very little in the past year or more.

Did you forget a disclaimer? I have no connection to either. How about you?

I have no connection with the developers except being a beta tester. I have been using Dronelink since it was first announced. Many suggestions from both me and other beta tester have been implemented.

The two developers are both highly accessible on their forum and usually respond quickly to users inquires unlike Litchi.

Litchi has it's pluses over Dronelink to be sure. They are similar, but are very different tools in the tool box.
