Hidden behind the trees beyond beautiful countryside dwellings (Hello Peter, nice to meet you...) you will find the large quarry at Hill Top Lane in Whittle-le-Woods near Chorley, that was once used to dispose of radioactive waste.

As alluring as water can be in summer, these places should be avoided by would-be swimmers.
