Why are the side cameras on the Mavic 2 Zoom NOT being used to avoid crashes when shooting in 'point of interest' mode?

From Latest firmware update notes,  Enabled Lateral Vision Systems for Point of Interest 2.0 (see Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom User Manual for more details about obstacle sensing requirements). Looks like it has been enabled.

Well, it also doesn't make sense that there's no waypoint function except for hyperlapse even though Litchi proves it's in the firmware, and of course it's in Go for older models.
