Found my 12ish year old laptop the other day.
Hasn't been switched on for 3 years maybe 4.
After updating for 20 odd hours seems to be working OK.
Is there any editing programme that I could use on Windows 7?

Even in the off chance that you found some software that would run on Windows 7 and most likely 32 bit at that, your laptops 12 year old hardware is nowhere near up to the task. Your CPU, RAM and HDD would be severley insufficient and more importantly for you, the experience would be a slow, painful nightmare.

Even folks with much more modern spec'ed computers sometimes have problems with today's video editing software, especially when it comes to 4K and H.265

I have used THIS on Windows 10 but they have a Windows 7 download ( you may have to have a 64 bit system.)
I think you can try for free so nothing lost.

I think the 64 bit version of Windows 7 came out in late 2009 so OP's computer may be older than that. But as stated it doesnt cost anything to try..just one's patience!
