Hi Fellow Mavic grease monkeys,

Its still legal to use the term monkey right? I know the monkey wrench term has been banned from plumbing, its pipe wrench. I digress...

Let me get to the point, the question. How do you remove the motor on the y-axis on gimbal? It looks like its pressed in. There is a little ridge on the rim so it may require a special tool? I read others posts that say it not removable, but now they sell the part.

Now I will digress again. Dived into Mavicland 6 months ago and naturally I crashed. Its like a motorcycle, you have to feel asphalt to respect the drone. So now I successful fixed MZoom, I am working on M2pro. I noticed a common problem is the flimsy Y axis ribbon. Ir breaks right off way too easy. Previous thread I discuss this part that I am forced to but for $160.

Available for $160 on Banggood. DJI doesn't sell it. And the Y-axis motors were $16 and they just vanished off all the sites that sell parts. No y- axis motors alone. The DJI suppliers said, no you cant buy a $16 y axis motor, instead you must buy the whole assembly for $160. So I have had no choice but to buck up the $160 for Pro and $130 for Zoom, just because the ribbon cable broke off! Or maybe, like me, you ruined more than a few connectors by trying to connect the ribbon cables to the boards.
But all of a sudden the Y-axis motor shows up on ebay and Aliexpress for $36-$56 in price.
Point is I'm trying to get this motor out so I can save $120
Thanks for any help.

My guess is it’s pressed in. A picture of the opposite side of where it goes into the housing would help.
If it’s pressed in, it can be pressed out.
