MMS Coast replied to the thread Mini 4 Pro Plus battery and RID ?.There's little difference for most of us. Yes, you can be in compliance without transmitting RID if you have authorization from the Administrator of the FAA or fly in an FAA-recognized FRIA.

MIf you are a recreational pilot flying a "Required to be registered" Drone (one over the weight) you would certainly need to always use RID.
