I bought a landing pad a few months back. Looks to be the same one that you have a pic of. Was fairly cheap (I think around 18$). Anyway - I was in Cancun and decided to use it for taking off at the beach. It was fairly windy (maybe around 15-20 mph winds). The landing pad has spikes that...
Really depends on your needs. It sounds like you are similar to me - want a good quality video but not a professional film person. I think the Inspire is superior to the Mavic in many respects - but for my money - the Mavic crushes the competition. In my situation, I travel a lot. The...
Hello - still learning how to use Premier Pro CC. Question - I typically film in 4k. However, I post my videos to Youtube (which only does 1920/1080p). When I render the video - should I convert it over to 1080p since that is the highest that Youtube can display or should I render at the...
Wow. 70 mph winds would definitely be too much. I will post my video from Cancun that I took a few weeks ago. It got pretty windy there. Like an idiot - I flew one day with 40-50 mph gusts. Luckily I didn't fly to far away but my return speed was like 5 mph because of the wind. Definitely...
I was flying anywhere from 50 feet to 100 feet depending on the clip. I was in SD for business - so I stopped by La Jolla Cove about 4 times. It is awesome. No one seemed to mind me flying and it is one of the few places in SD that you can fly legally!
At what height are you flying at? Asking because I was in Mexico recently - flew from my hotel (which was literally on the sand of a beach) straight out to the ocean. Flew around 180 feet high - started to get lag video at around 3500 feet. Got concerned and turned around - probably could...
Great points. I think once you get used to manually adjusting - that is the way to go. As noted - there is a rule of thumb as to the FPS versus shutter speed. But also - in Auto - the exposure will be constantly changing on you which may make post edit changes much more difficult.
Hello - I thought the ART profile went away with the last firmware update? Did you revert to a previous version? Also - why do you sometimes shoot in 2.7k? I would think that 4k 24/30 fps would be the standard selection - are there times when it makes more sense to shoot in 2.7k?
Hello - wondering what everyone does as far as color style and settings? I have been using Cinelike and -2,-2,-2 which is what Tom's Techtime suggested. What do you all use? I am going to Cancun in a few days and curious what would be good for shooting at the beach.
I ordered the PGYtech landing pad. Pretty durable and doesn't blow away easy. I think the cost was like $20 w/ free shipping on Amazon - I wouldn't even waste your time trying to do a custom job - plenty of cheap ready to go alternatives.
ooh! Great advice! I haven't had a chance to fly over water, but would never have thought of the second piece. Lesson learned - either turn it back on prior to landing or just land really slowly.
