    Mavic Air and birds

Hello! Usually the spots where I fly are also natural habitats of those lovely creatures called "birds". A few times while flying (and by no means harassing them) in the sea shore, cliffs, light houses, etc. those birds seem to dislike the drone and fly quite close around it, even to the point...

    The Mavic Air is "Tough"...

Tony, dont insist. Your posts dont rhyme. Give up with that style.

    LG phones with Mavic Air?

I am using LG V30. Works perfectly. Minor problem is that the screen frame is really thin (basically the whole front side of the phone is screen), so the remote controller's clamps are covering part of the actual screen, making it difficult to tap on some buttons of the interface.

    Lens scratched, what now?

The front ring apparently can be removed, try to unscrew it. Some people here have reported that the ring includes a glass. For some others, it is just a ring. That is how the Air ND filters are mounted.

    Camping

This sentence makes no sense. Mavic Air is more portable than Pro. So if you travel, hike, bike, sky, whatever activity that doesnt allow to take a lot of stuff with you, Air is better. Unless you get overseas by swimming. None of the Mavics are waterproof. When we say Air is WIFI is because...

First time drone owner's thoughts on the Air

    Awesome video :)

    Travelling* to somewhere cold

I have used the drone on -5c to -10c with no problem (Iceland). Anyway, I would be cautious to fly too high, as -5c on ground can be -20c at 100m; add cold wind to that and you might have nasty surprises with battery duration.

Unusably choppy 4k30 video from Mavic Air :(

I am using a Transcend Ultimate 64GB and it works perfect with 4K 30fps.

IDEA: Mavic air landing gears (antenna extenders)

Consider remote and drone as "mouth" and "ears". There are few small improvements that you can do to your "ears" to hear better at longer distances, but the most effective way is just to make the "mouth" (aka the remote) talk louder. And also remember that any addition to the drone means more...

First attempt ever at flying a drone. (video)

First 40 minutes flying a drone in my life; followed by my first two hours trying to come up with a video using DaVinci Resolve. I know there are lots of things to improve in both fields :)

I may be being stupid, but...

I agree. With all the top design displayed in the drone and remote, looks like they forgot about the bag. It is just not well thought. The "flappy pocket" cant fit anything. And if you put anything on it, it looks like a boxer's nose. Also, I dont like the idea of carrying the drone on top of...

First drone flight ever! (spoiler: and it survived ;) )

Finally on Saturday I was able to fly my MA for the first time. As I had never flown a drone before, "Beginner mode" was ON for most of the day and I was extra cautious. As you may remember, I live in Iceland, so low temperatures and wind are the normal environment here. MA was constantly...

SSID not found when connecting phone to drone through WiFi

Yes. And after that, my LG V30 does not detect the SSID (something like "Mavic-Air_XXXXXX") while two other phones, right beside, (Samsung S8 and Nexus 5) detect and can connect to it with no problem. Maybe I should have described my problem more thoroughly.

I will google it and try later at home. Thanks!

SSID not found when connecting phone to drone through WiFi

Hello! I have problems connecting a phone (LG V30) to the Mavic Air using WiFi. The drone's SSID is not detected (although is detected by other phone I have). In order to trace the reason, I installed a WiFi scanner on both. The Mavic is using channel 153 (that is 5.8Ghz). Apparently, my phone...
