Mine was clearly pilot error as I explained in my OP, and DJI covered mine under the fly-away program. The deductible is higher.. but still they covered it.

I bet your insurance company loves you... you pay for insurance and refuse to file a claim against it.

Update: DJI offered to replace it under the fly-away provision for the DJI Care Refresh...which carries a $499 deductible. I guess it's better than nothing.

Yep.. I know that, and clearly admit (in my original post) that I was negligent. I'm simply wondering if DJI might still cover it under the fly-away/lost drone. If it was a manufacturer issue I'd imagine it would be covered under regular warranty. I'm hoping the DJ Care/Refresh is a little...

I got the error but it went away after the auto restart.

I've never flown in historic Ellicott City. I'll have to add that to my 'to do ' list

I went to Federal Hill in Baltimore and did some harbor fly-overs as well as Lake Elhorn in Columbia. It was a little windy buy still a great day to fly!
