Anyone try side-loading the DJI Fly app on the Smart Controller yet to see if it works with the MA2?

Yep... i’m just looking for someone who’s actually tried it before I pull the trigger right now on a Smart Controller.

I can install the DJI Fly app via the SD card. It loads ok but I am not sure how to pair with Mavic Air 2 aircraft at the moment.

I think the answer is no, not yet. My smart controller doesn't link with my mavic air 2.

I saw that side loading is possible. One thing to consider is when it runs on phone with MA2 that it has intimate knowledge of all devices (buttons, rollers, etc.) of the controller. Even if you did get it installed, until there is a SC/MA2 release, it will still think its running on the original controller, and won't be prepared to provide access to all SC inputs. Actually when run on a phone it EXPECTS the controller and its buttons are on an EXTERNAL device. How does it look to the software when run on the SC? It would seem this customization is the developer work going on, we are all waiting for, that is needed for a good experience. Don't know how long it will be, no projected release date given, but I think I'll wait because so much probably won't work to side load the current version. Sounds like an exercise in frustration.
