Yesterday I was on maybe my fifth flight with my brand new Mavic
And after it disconnected at over 10,000 feet away, it never initiated
Rth nor when the battery was so low it it said it was headed home
But never did.
By the Grace of God I jumped in my vehicle and following the
Find my drone feature tracked it to where it auto landed.
It had landed between the back of a small business in a very
Narrow drive thru alley.
It was from 900 or so feet no less.
Later I will load the miracle video.
Now back to my question, should I send it back? I mean to me
This is a critical feature gone bad?
I have a p4 and have had several mavic but NEVER HAS ANY
Of them ever failed to return home.
Is there something I missed? I have everything in settings set
To Rth if connection is lost yet it did not.IMG_0372.JPGIMG_0373.JPGIMG_0375.JPG[ATTACH=full

Please disregard last photo it was a mistake on my part putting
In this post cause it has nothing to do with the flight I am
Mentionong

A couple of things. Post the full log so others can look into it. Looks like strong wind to me and you're flying well above the altitude limit. So it might have difficulty coming back due to the wind. There's also another post about mavic RTH that didn't come back and it looks like it might have went back to the last recorded HP.

I am a newbie here, and maybe am wrong but, you were on 20% battery when you lost connection to the bird. And since you were far away, bird didn't initiate RTH, due to battery being low and went towards auto landing function.

ShonnyRotten I’m not sure how u think the mavic was down to 20% battery
Before Rth was initiated.
When I upload the data you will find the first attempts at Rth started around
The 60% mark.
You can believe I was making every effort to reconnect.
Regardless the point is why did the bird not Rth when it was disconnected for
More than 3 secs at least 10 times.
I have had a p3,p4,and two other Mavics and all of them would return after
A 3 Sec. Disconnect.
It is definitely dji that needs to fix this

Unless you post the flight log that shows differently, my interpretation of the AirData notification list is that it was attempting to RTH but that high wind speed was preventing it from making headway.

sar104 I don’t know how to access the files.
I use a iPad Pro 9.7 and don’t know what to do
I run windows 7,

Just share the AirData link - from that we can download the flight log and see wind speed and direction.
