The program for the FAA UAS Symposium – Remotely Piloted Edition features a variety of sessions that will bring you direct insights from FAA leadership, collaborative discussions on the state of enabling technologies and future regulations, and instructive how-to sessions for operators – all focused on safely advancing UAS integration into the National Airspace System. If the Symposium has anything to do with safety education it should be open and free to the public. The FAA should remove their name from the symposium. Who's profiting from the entry fee ? Has the FAA changed policy for charging fees on safety education ? Hobbyists are the largest group in the body of sUAS operators and just don't have a voice in a rapidly changing industry.
Home - FAA 2020 By calling it a symposium rather than a seminar makes the difference ? It's obvious the FAA is not running the show. Recreational drone operators, hobbyists are social outcasts and a detriment to commercial operators. Rant out.

Yea and considering it’s all virtual it’s not like they have overhead costs.

While the FAA appears to be participating and they included the FAA logo, I don't see any indication at all that this is an FAA event and the FAA is not on the list of partners. AUVSI is a non-profit organization and holds events in various technical areas, and always charges for them.
