First quick edit... poor youtube quality?

this is my first quick edit i made from tonights flight... i shot in 2k 25fps and it looked pretty nice before i uploaded to youtube, however I've noticed quite a bit of loss in quality... whats the best way to upload to youtube keeping great quality?

Youtube compresses videos, considerably. Rendering at a higher bit rate will improve the quality of the video after it has been uploaded. Do you know what bit rate you used when rendering your video?

i don't how do i find this out, i only edited using iMovie?

I'm not a Mac guy... Can't help you there. But you need to be rendering your 2k videos at 30 Mbps (megabits per second) or higher.

when i exported my video i had a choice of saving it as a 1080p file or 4k. how can it be saved in 4k when it was only filmed in 2k? i chose the 1080p option, should i of chose 4k?
