Flight modes

I need some help fellow flyers.
Tonight I came home from work and wanted to practice maneuvers in tri-pod mode.
I powered up everything and took flight.
The icon on the left of my iPad for the flight modes is missing.
It is usually right below the land and return home icons.

I checked for beginner mode and it was off.
I turned beginner mode on and the icon came back. When I try to go into tri-pod mode it says I can't because of the beginner mode.

Any thoughts as to why this icon is missing?

Is there a setting that removes it?

Turn off beginner mode and are you shore Advance Flight Modes is still turned on?

Beginner is off. When I turn it on the icon returns but I can't use the advanced modes.
Where do I turn on advanced flight modes?

Yes, this was on.

But it triggered me to check something.
My sport mode switch was on.
I thought is was a bit twitchy.

Will this do it?

Pretty sure that stops advanced modes.

That was it. Switched off sport mode and my icon came back.
