One of the ways to learn the ropes, is signing up for the FAA trust UAS safety test.
That document is evidence that you the holder has passed the aeronautical knowledge and safety test.
Recreational flyers must make this certificate available to FAA or law enforcement officials upon request.
The test is free, and you can't fail.
