it stops when it gets to the sea bed, sorry poor attempt at humour , blame it on this lockdown

If this was a serious question, the drone sinks instantaneously. Once it hits the water the battery will short and you’ll have a paperweight on your hands. Even if you try to dry it out, the device can’t go amphibious.

I tried a 80cm high, sport mode pass over a nice, quiet, flooded field, forgetting about the aoa difference between the two modes. One little straw of hay ended that experience. To retrieve it I used polarized sunglasses to see it, but then again it was only 2’ below the surface.

Sorry but yes you can dry it out . I did my M2P and am still
flying it almost everyday. Wasn’t under but a minute and got to it with the lights still blinking and removed the battery.
It‘s a goner but blew all the water out, sprayed electronics cleaner all in it and just let it sit for a month. Was fresh water
and might be that 1 in a 1000 but it’s fine. That was last summer.
Have seen some use rice or other things but under certain
circumstances you can get lucky.

Y'all are making me nervous. I just flew over 4 miles of ocean to reach and island with no problems. This is my 4th trip over the same area. I've been taking it for granted that it was OK. (in case you're wondering, I have 20/10 vision-not really). Its the BEST kind of flying as there are no obstructions to block transmission and no one to endanger. Of course, I know its a lost cause if something goes wrong.

No need in getting nervous that’s when you make mistakes.
Just be aware of the what if’s and fly accordingly.
Don't care how careful you are stuff happens.
I’m over water 80% of the time and just don’t think about It.

So what are you doing when your over water. Photography? What mistakes are looming out there over water? You are soooo right about getting nervous and making mistakes. What precautions, if any, do you take that would be different from terra firma?

About all we have here is water as the Tenn-Tom Waterway
goes through here so is just where I fly a lot. Yes I get pictures of the barges or snowbirds going back up north.2C9AABBC-1966-4838-8D9E-DF762DDDDDC5.jpeg Then lots of just sunsets or rises.

Not to mention I can’t count all the big gravel pits like this i
like to fly around.44BA8E5D-C023-40EA-BDC3-D7DEC21A5AD1.jpeg.
Mistakes i make are being foolish when right at shorelines
flying sideways and misjudging where the trees are. Course
birds are always there but never have had one attack it just check it out.
Really don’t take no more precautions over water than land
cause there’s no trees out there for me to hit.
i am fond of doing that.?
I just like flying everyday and is close and just play.
I do make a few videos but really just for me and friends .
I’ll catch mornings like this and do something like this.

Very cool video. Nice and smooth. Are those artificially flooded areas as I see dead trees in the water. My video technique still not great but I'm practicing. I love the access to areas I normally would not be able to reach like the islands I mentioned above. I found one where the pelicans roost. They are getting used to the drone and so I get great video footage which I will post once I download.

The gravel pits which we have by the hundreds were dug
when they built the waterway. The locks which have pools
which you saw in that video have one behind each one before it just turns to a chanel going to the next one. We have 3 locks just in my county and can get to the other 2 in 15 minutes. One here I can fly up from my yard and see so maybe 5 minute drive.
We really to far north for pelicans but found sone the other
week here.
