Hi I’m a newbie here, I live in Lilydale Vic Australia.
Wife bought me a Mavic Mini for my birthday (70), great looking device and don’t require registration. Buy it will not pair with controller. dji fly on mobile says connected to controller. When I try to connect controller to aircraft, message is “unable to connect to aircraft” I’ve looked at YouTube and seen a few tutorials still nothing. Some tutorials say to “activate“ first, I’ve not had that question to activate. Any one have any ideas? I’m looking forward to getting started.

welcome to the forum
before you can use the drone you have to register it with DJI have you done that
thats what activate means
you then have your device turned on and connected to the controller, start the controller, and after a few seconds you will get a buz and on the screen it will say RC connected
then just start the drone ,make sure the gimbal cover is off first, wait and then after it has connected you will see go fly
touch that on the screen and you should get the camera view ,you can down load the manual onto your computer and read about how it all works

Welcome to our forum, from Texas!

You'll find that the Mini almost flies itself. This can lead to overconfidence. Try to be conservative at first, and expand your horizons gradually. The Mini, at only 249 grams, doesn't handle wind as well as the heavier drones do. On windy days--you get those down under--it's best to fly the Mini so that you have a tail wind on the way back.

Read your manual, and practice using "Find My Drone". Chances are you'll crash and perhaps lose your drone. Don't wait 'til that happens to try to learn under stress in less than ideal conditions. We have several fellow Aussies among our membership, and over 120,000 more from around the world who will help you learn your new hobby. Ask for help when you need it. Share your work when you can!

Glad you've joined us, mate!
