PolarPro glare

Hi,
Does anyone know if I can prevent the glare I experience when taking photos towards the sun? I was using a PolarPro cinema series vivid collection ND16/PL filter.

Below are some pictures I took this morning, I've also shown a version taken away from the sunlight. These pictures are all unedited and straight off the memory card.

Any advice would be welcome.

I don't think I would be using the polarization filters when shooting toward the sun. Look like they are causing serious banding in the blue sky. Just my opinion though.

Hi Chrism,

Anytime the sun is appearing in the image you're taking, you'll end up with some glare left over. Polarizing filters in general perform at their weakest when pointed directly at the sun, and there is no filter that will eliminate the effects of direct sunlight entirely. You might see a slight improvement with a more powerful ND filter, so if you have one of our ND32 or ND64 filters handy you might want to give that a go and see how the images come out. That would also help reduce or remove the banding Anthonyk mentioned, assuming you use a non-polarizing filter. Ultimately, though, we recommend keeping the sun out of your images if you're looking for the best results our polarizing filters can provide.
