Spotlight mode on small rc aircraft

Quick test of this mode today

It did lose it a few times but only when the subject went higher than the mavic.

It's an E-flite convergence...it has 2 motors on the front that transition in to forward flight when you click a switch. There's a horizontal fixed motor on the rear that comes on for hovering

Given the presence of the windsock and lack of runway or helipad, I assume this is an RC flying field.

Yea it clearly is but surely aren't drones covered by different rules and regulations than regular rc aircraft??
