Newly minted 107 Pilot here.
I took and passed my part 107 knowledge test Monday afternoon. It was my understanding that after I took the test I would have to wait the 24-48 hours for test test to get in the system and then I could apply for my Airmen Certificate at which point I would receive a temporary Airman Certificate and would eventually get the permanent one after a few months.
Well I applied for my Airman Certificate and then it said that it would be another 2 weeks before I got my temporary certificate.
Does this mean I have to wait the two weeks before I get my “wings” and cannot fly under part 107 till then? That was the impression I got from their materials but I wasn’t told that explicitly.
I think I remember some people making LAANC requests using the certificate # of “pending” but I don’t remember the circumstances. At any rate at what point after the initial knowledge test is passed can I start flying for hire?
Thanks
