Transferring footage from mavic to PC

I was wondering if when transfering files from your mavic to your pc via cable to mavic. Do you need your controller on or just the mavic ? Will it recognize it as a storage device on my pc or do i need to download a program?

You just need the Mavic powered on. It should show up like any other drive.

It doesn't matter too much either way, best way is to get a card reader though - preferably USB3 version.
You have to take off gimbal lock too which is really quite a pain just to download.

Thanks i will buy one , was just worried it might be hard on the card or port , taking it in an out too much.

I just pop the sd out and into my pc. It's much faster transfer that way also.
