I have been searching for a fast and easy desktop video editor with onboard music (or easy access to royalty-free music) for several hours. My requirements are simple--basic editing, maying applying prebuilt LUTs, and add music. The DJIGo app with the onboard music is handy, but I would rather edit on a computer.

I found many options like Da Vinci, OpenShot, Shortcut, Powerdirector, and more. What I can't verify is that any of these editors have onboard music. Having to find music separately seems like a pain. There are many threads here about editors, but none gives obvious directions on the music part. I am okay with free/open source or paid (just don't need a subscription like Premiere, nor need the complexity).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

You won’t find any progs with music due to copyright issues I think, personally I just use YouTube audio library when I edit in power director

Hello guys!! What can you tell me about the best video editor, for first time users ? Are the presets more important than the software? I see a lot of guys that talk more about the LUTs than the software....kkk.
The Power Director seems to have a lot of prizes and good specialists reviews? Is this good for first time users? Thank you !!

I like Vegas Pro for editing and Da Vinci Resolve for colorgrading. Both these are relative easy to use IMO. Epidemic Sound, have an awesome library of music. Not free though

Premier Pro and look for a site with copyright free music. I use a bunch. I even think you can get Adobe on a monthly premium to see if you like it.

Thanks for all the great responses. A few follow up questions:

1) Is there a popular open-source alternative to Premiere, like Gimp is to Photoshop?

2) I gathered now that onboard music is not possible. How does DJIGo do it? It is their own library?

3) I am looking for quick, easy, streamlined editing, and easy to ingest/add music. Which editor, if any, has a built-in function to download music from various sources? Powerdirector?

Gopro app called Quik has music. Its very basic. But great if you are starting out.
It is available on Android, Apple, Mac and Windows.

Yep, they would likely have licensed a few clips for their users to use.

You can probably extract the tracks from it if you want, although that could void the usage license...

The creators update for Windows 10 1709 has a movie editor in the photos app. You need to bring your own music but the editor is free and works surprisingly well....

you can pluck music off an android install of dji go....thats what I did....

Here is one I did on my phone with Power Director the music I bought the CD and since I don't have ads the copyright wasn't an issue
